Ph.D. Student in Data Science
I am a Ph.D. student in Data Science at City University of Hong Kong, advised by Prof. Xiangyu Zhao in the Applied Machine Learning Lab. My research interests are human-centered AI and LLM security. Recently, I have been studying persona control in LLM-based user simulation.
Previously, I received dual B.S. degrees in Electrical Engineering from Zhejiang University and the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, where I worked with Prof. Qingchun Hou on constraint-aware neural networks.

Changing one persona attribute also shifts attributes the prompt never mentions. Declaring those attributes neutral does not stop it, so following a persona is not the same as controlling it.
